Nothing breaks up an intense work week like a trip to a winery! This week’s “eventure” was a site visit to the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Bridgehampton, NY. This Tuscan-style vineyard is located about 2 1/2 hours outside of New York City (depending on the horrific Hamptons’ summer traffic). But once I arrived, I quickly realized that it was well worth the trip. The property is stunning. I immediately got the sense that the employees take pride in the estate as if it were their own.
After touring the estate and enjoying a plentiful vino tasting (my favs are the sparkling and dessert wines), I could easily imagine a beautiful wedding in this very intimate setting with the vineyards and nice, warm sunset colors as the backdrop. And if you don’t believe me, check out the gallery at www.wolffer.com/weddings.
You can opt to exchange vows near the charming gazebo or on the terrace (see below). The event space can hold up to about 150 guests. A key factor about the estate is that it doesn’t take much to enhance the beauty that is already there. You can add as much or as little as you want and the beauty of the vines will do the rest.
